To be precise, Funster went live with the game What’s in a Name? on October 18, 1996. The first players were Charles Timmerman (the developer in California) vs David Timmerman (his father in Indiana). No one remembers who won that first game, but boy was it fun (even with dial-up modems)!
In the summer of 1997, it was selected as a Yahoo! Pick of the Week and traffic exploded. What’s in a Name? is still going strong with many dedicated players.
In recent years, Charles Timmerman and Funster have been busy creating and publishing quality books that exercise the brain and are, of course, fun.
